Born in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri, Josh has been kicking around bakeries and kitchens since he was a teenager; although he would tell you he fell in love with baking at his first “real” job as a pastry cook at Guglhupf Bakery & Cafe in Durham, North Carolina about 2 decades ago. Since then, he’s worked as a (terrible) cake decorator, an overnight bread baker and a behind the counter at a grocery store, as well as a deeply satisfying stint as a stay-at-home Dad. His last job was as the Bakery Manager at Scenic Route Bakery in the East Village of Des Moines, a kitchen that will always be near and dear to his heart.
